Mini-Album Hop

Well, here's a fun thing! I've been following this page over on Facebook called Erica's Room. There are a few really great blog hops coming up and I thought this would be a fun one to join in on since I've been working on this little mini-album for a friend!

So if you've stopped here for the "My Cricut Craft Room's Mini Album Blog Hop," you're in the right place! Here is my little album:

This was my first attempt at creating a mini-album from envelopes. I used some 5x7 kraft colored envelopes to make the pages. I made the cover and many other pages from the DCWV "Playtime" stack. Some accents were made using the "Storybook" cricut cartridge. Isn't this fun for a baby girl?

The book looks a little flat at the time, I left lots of extra room for the pages to expand in the cover after the photos are added.

I made some fun interactive pages and I used anything leftover that I could find that was pink or white or frilly!

The flaps were cut off of some of the envelopes to make cute pocket pages.

It was fun to make something glittery and girly for a change. :)

It's so hard to take still photos of a mini-album and show all of the fun interactive pages! I made a tiny video to show a little more of the album in action.

Thanks for stopping by today... If you're hopping along, the next stop is Kim's! Hope you are having a fabulous, bloghoppy weekend.

Critter Card

I used a stencil to make the background trees and a favorite stamp from Ampersand Press. I stamped with black onto grey paper and used the very lightest of grey and brown Copics and a white pen for detail.

All too familiar...

The challenge is to make a card for a teenaged boy...

Inside:

Stamp sets used: "Distressed Lower" and "LOL" by Close to My Heart.

I simply stamped on a piece of notebook paper and let my son carry it around in his backpack for a day.

(Jut kidding, but not really.)

Through thick and thin...

Here's a thin card.. Just right for our heroes to send home to a loved one.

And the juicy version to send to any hero...

Can you spot the difference? The diet version has one less layer, and no dimensional elements. The other has a fat pocket embellishment, thicker "dots" in the flower centers and real buttons.

To make lighter versions, use punched paper centers and paper die / embossed buttons.

Used: SU petite petals, DCWV paper, sentiments by Hero Arts.

The little white scalloped/embossed squares are more paper "coasters" that I picked up in party supplies somewhere.

VCMP Weekend!

I'm blogging from my phone :) in an attempt to post my entries for the VCMP!!

Here's my cards for today. I'm going to have to work backwards from Sunday, in between chores....

My first for this weekends' sketch.

Tiddly Inks digi, DCWV HarvestGathering may stack, Darcie embossing folder, Copics for coloring and a Dazzles sentiment. I'm already loving fall colors. Is it too soon??

I can't figure how to link in this app.. So if you'd like to play along with the Virtual Catdmaking Party for Operation Write Home, head on over to their blog, Stars & Stamps. Http://operationwritehome.org/starsandstamps

Busy weekend :)

Wooo! I finally got some crafty time in this weekend! It's been a while. I really enjoyed sitting down with my paper and stamps and stuff to make a few things I've been looking forward to. Going to try to cram them all into one post, so hang on to your shorts. :)

I've been meaning to catch up with my Deconstructed Sketches because I love them so much... here are a few... 156 and 147. I've got quite a few to do before I catch up! I used some Stampin' Up punches, some printed kraft cardstock I got at Joann's, and some paper from an Authentique 6x6 pad that I just love.

I made use of my SU Petite Petals stamp and punch set for these ones. I had a package of "pockets" in my stash that I'be been hoarding for years and years. They were made by MakingMemories, and they are real fabric. Glad that I saved them for these cards. :)

I used an embossing folder and a digi stamp by Tidldy Inks. I colored her with my new Copics. I'm loving this color combo!

I HAVE been practicing with my copics. I colored these little guys in front of the TV the other night. The stamps are all from Lawn Fawn. Critters Ever After, and Love 'n Breakfast (The little cupcake is really a muffin, but don't tell! ) I also made use of some really tiny stars that I got in a beauty supply store. They're for manicures, but I thought that they would be fun for this too.

Thanks for stopping by... hope that you have a safe and wonderful 4th of July!

Great Impressions Blog Hop

Well, Hello!

I'm welcoming visitors for the Operation Write Home / Great Impressions blog hop today! If you would like to start at the beginning of this little hop, you can do that over at Stars & Stamps! If you have come here from Mary Anne's Blog, you are right on track! Isn't it a beautiful day for a hop?

Today I am sharing a card made for OWH using one of our cute new Great Impressions fundraiser sets. I'll be following this OWH sketch #227:

In addition to the adorable Great Impressions - Home and Sentiments set, I used some cute paper by We R Memory Keepers, a Spellbinders die and some die cut / punched stars. I colored with Copic markers and used some Liquid Glass on the cute hearts and windows:

Here's a little close-up detail if you would like:

I really love this adorable little set and it is so nice for them to donate 20% back to OWH. Many thanks to Ms. Deone for letting me participate in this today and to Great Impressions for teaming up with us. These stamps have such wonderful detail and they stick so nicely to your acrylic blocks. The letters in the sentiment are a nice font that stamp out very crisply - and what great sentiments for OWH cards!  I really enjoyed working with them!

I love this little set so much that I used it this week for my card featuring "ribbon" for my local card-making group. So here is an example of the card using the other adorable sentiment:

Staycation

Staycation! It's a vacation, of sorts, where you just stay at home. Sounds fine to me... I've got all of my favorite people and things here! It's spring break in Idaho and the snow is falling gently in huge tufts like freshly picked cotton. Sick of it. Seriously. :)

Here are a few things I've been up to:

I used "Love 'n Breakfast" by Lawn Fawn. Love that set.. it makes me giggle every time! Do you remember pop-up books? I made a pop-up mechanism on this card so that the toast pops up when you pull down the little tab. It's super cute. But it took me forever to engineer. :)

Here is a little demo of the movement:

My friend Valerie recently introduced me to Tiddly Inks. Thanks for that, Valerie. I also used an old sentiment stamp that I found in her stash. I have no idea where it came from but isn't it perfect?
The paper on both cards came from a new 6x6 pad by We R Memory Keepers that I picked up with my birthday haul. . . and I am off to use some more of it. Happy spring break, everyone!post signature

CTMH - Spring/Summer 2014

I've been a terrible consultant. I still love my CTMH products but haven't been working the business at all since I started my new day job!

I did want to share my new favorite paper collection from the spring lineup. It's called "Balloon Ride." I love the colors and the patterns! I used them to make this fun card... "I like you!"

This set was a must-have for me just because of the Facebook-looking "Like". I "Like" everything!!! I can't wait to make more cards with this set. Too cute.

If you like it like I do, you can get one here.  I'll be making some more CTMH goodies soon to share. Stay tuned!

OWH - Die-Versions Bloghop!

Oh! I do love bloghop time! Thanks for joining me today. If you came here from Patti's Blog you are certainly headed the right direction! You may also start at the top over at Stars & Stamps!

I'm so excited to share my cards today that I made with the cute Die-Version's OWH dies. I used the cute "Me + You Forever" Sweet Phrases - DVPH-005. You can definitely pick this one up over at Die-Versions along with many, many other adorable things!

I love the hexagon shape - it goes so well with lots of other hexagon shape/patterned things that are so trendy right now. I used my die on white paper and mounted on a mat of black for the card above. The die cuts so cleanly that it left me some perfectly shaped letters from the "negative space." I used them to make a second card...

I also used some Darcie and ProvoCraft  Cuttlebug embossing folders today, and two cute little heart-shaped blings. Everybody loves heart-shaped bling, right? I do think that these dies make some really nice looking clean-and-simple cards.

...and now for a little prize time... leave me a comment and tell me which of the Die-Versions dies you have seen today that really caught your eye. I will pick a random comment-er and send you the "Happy B-Day" die shown here:

It is so darned cute but I didn't even have time to use it yet. So brand-new in the package, this die will come right to one lucky winner. (Don't forget to leave me a way to contact you!)  I'm happy to send this great fundraiser die to a good home! I'm also happy that you stopped by today. Hope you have a very fun hop!

Now hop on over to see what Anne has done with her Die-Versions dies! Have a wonderful weekend!

February Goodies

Time kind of got away from me again... February in Idaho included a very nice sunny weekend during which I got NO scrapping, but a lot of early spring cleaning done. It was nice to open the doors and air out the house and scrub the mud off of the kitchen / mud room floor! Get out, winter!!!

We also kind of got caught up watching the Olympics. Wasn't that fun? Since we live so closely to so many prime skiing areas, we had quite a few locals in the mix. How exciting! I always love watching the winter games and Russia was really neat to see and learn about.

Here are a few cards that I recently got to finish up following some Deconstructed Sketches.  I'm afraid I am too far behind to include any of these in their recent posts, but I do love following them anyway.

I've been on a real butterfly kick, lately.  What a nice excuse to use up some favorite old papers, though. This one has some wonderful felt-textured butterflies. I used a favorite Studio-G sentiment and a fun set by SU called Papillion Potpourri. (Stamps and punch set)

Thanks a lot, Friend Valerie, for introducing me to these little "Tiddly Ink" stamps. I have been avoiding looking them up, because they are so darned cute. Here's a little go I had with my Copics and a few more butterfly dies too. Oh - Sizzlets, I think.

More of the same plus some old butterfly paper from DCWV and  a CTMH sentiment. It sure is nice to use up some old supplies. More coming soon... there is a blog hop this weekend! Hooray!post signature

Happy Superbowl Sunday!

Can't wait... we're cooking up lots of yummies... chicken fajitas, tacos, chips and salsa... some of our very favorite things. We're getting ready to sit down and enjoy the game (and the commercials...lol) and have some fun!

BEFORE THAT, HOWEVER, it was time for the CARD BOWL!

Fun... I had time to make a few. Here are my cards for this weekend and the events I am participating in!

A few Seahawk colors for the Card Bowl! All of you card-loving people need to stop by this post, just to see all of the festive Denver / Seattle themed cards. It's a real hoot!

I used my cute OWH fundraiser set from Stamper's Best, the Stud Puffin. I know he's not a Seahawk, but he's close and cute enough, don't you think?

A masculine card with the color brown for the ODBD challenge. I also followed Sketch 209 for this one, because that was a really fun sketch to use. I also used my CTMH  Beary Best Stamps.

More green and yellow for today's Sketch 210... go Hawks!
I made the flowers using my new SU Flower Shop stamps and punches. This is not a color combo that I would have usually chosen, but it sure fits the theme for today. :) Yikes! It's almost game time, and I've got to finish my cupcakes. Hope everyone has a great game day!

OWH Sketch #209

Can you believe that there are 209 sketches over at Stars & Stamps? They keep getting even more detailed and fun. For those who like measurements on their sketches, they have those, too. I find that I enjoy both the measurement kind of sketches, and the ones without. It's kind of fun to try to figure it out by myself. :)

I've been working hard on something really fun for this week. I hope that you will all be as excited as I am! I've got something really fun planned for this Tuesday!

Here is my sketch card for this week.

I used a bunch of old paper this week from the DCWV "sweet" stack. I love that paper to go with my new little "Create A Cupcake" set that I got from Jeanine, my friend who does Stampin' Up! I used some liquid pearls to give the flame a cute look and add some sprinkles to the cupcake.

Using some more of that paper, I made quite a few "tea light cakes" (as seen on Pinterest) for little Birthday goodies. I used lots of ribbon, tiny flowers, pearls and paper flowers from the dollar bins at Michael's to make my little cakes and a scallop punch for the bottom and top layers. I've got a ton of little battery operated tea lights that I picked up at the dollar store (two for a buck!) and I'm going to make some more soon. I just cut a little 2" box for a couple of these ones, but I hear that I can cut one way more easily with one of my CTMH cartridges so I'm definitely going to be doing that, next time. :)
But don't they look cute and delicious?

That's all for this weekend... hope that you are having a good and safe one wherever you are. The weather seems to be miserable across the country lately, although we are having a much more mild winter than usual, here. We're actually praying for snow because we have no snow pack in many areas.
Thanks for stopping by!
